Condemnation
January 2000

St. John 3:16-17

I want to share with you about how we as Christians are sometimes condemning to people. Vine's Dictionary says that condemnation is to know something against; to think ill of; to pronounce judgement or pronounce to be unfit for use of service. Jesus did not come into this world to condemn us, but that we might be saved. Many times we are prejudice about people because they are different in some way or do things differently from us. It is time we have the love of God in our lives. We must preach the word of Jesus. Instead, we speak our opinions or condemn (2 Timothy 4:1-5).

We speak of being unmoveable when we are just in a rut. God is trying to move us out of our ruts. So many Christians miss the voice of God when He is speaking to us. Being steadfast and unmoveable means in our faith, not our opinions. We all have traditions and habits that we need to break.

We must preach and speak the word in love, instead of in the flesh. Then let God do the changing in our hearts. We as Christians are to edify, exhort and comfort (I Corinthians 14:3). All things must be done to edify (I Corinthians 14:26). All things to be comforted (I Corinthians 14:31). Once God saves us, we have a lot of growing to do. So, let us give God time to work on new Christians before we condemn, hurt or run them out of the church.

We are a new person in Jesus (I Corinthians 5:17). According to I Corinthians 15:57, God receives the thanks for giving us Jesus and the victory over sin. God sent His only son to die on a cross and shed His blood, so we can be saved, delivered, set free and able to receive His promises (II Corinthians 1:20, 2:14, 3:17-18). I encourage you to read Romans - II Corinthians. God takes all things and works them out for good (Romans 8:28). Romans 8:31 says if God be for us, who can be against us?

He loves us all. It is time we start not only preaching His love, but living and showing His love to others. We are heirs of God, joint heirs (Romans 8:17). To be an heir is to receive something you didn't earn, work for or probably didn't deserve. But only because of Jesus, we can know who we are in Him. Take the time to spend with God. Get in his word and pray. This will allow you to hear from God, because He knows what is best for us.

Let us not condemn others but build God's kingdom. If we all got what we deserved, we would be in trouble. We must win souls with the love of Jesus. May God's best be for you, your family and your friends. 3 John 2 is our prayer for you. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Evangelist,

Kenny Large
