Releasing your Faith in Relationships 9-3-2008
The theme for Large Ministries in 2008 is “The Year to Release your Faith”. While traveling and ministering on this theme, I have found some people do not know how to release their faith. One area I believe many people struggle with is relationships. According to a 2005 national survey from Duke University and University of Arizona, three out of four men do not have a single close friend. Let us first get a definition of the word relationship. Relationship according to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary is: 1-the state of being related or interrelated, 2-the relation connecting or binding participants in a relationship, a specific instance, or type of kinship, 3-a state of affairs existing between those having relations or dealings, a romantic or passionate attachment. Friendships have been proven to lower blood pressure, ward off depression, speed healing after an injury and even prolong life. I believe in order to be successful in anything in life, a career, marriage, fatherhood or motherhood, or friendship; you have to be ready and willing to act. You have to know what you want, and when the opportunity presents itself, you must have the confidence and the strength to follow through. God made you and formed you in your mother’s womb, and He does and will lead you by the Holy Spirit. However, you are the author of your life, and you can write a different outcome than the one you seem destined for. The only way this can take place is having a relationship with Jesus Christ!
We have to take responsibility for the things we do and the choices we make. I am just talking straight with you this newsletter. Pick your moment, perfect the timing, know your agenda, be confident in the gifts God has placed in you, and do your job. I get to meet many ministers in my travels, and I have found that many try to compare themselves to other ministers or ministries. Listen to what , 2 Corinthians 10:12-15 (NLT) 12 Oh, don’t worry; we wouldn’t dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant! 13We will not boast about things done outside our area of authority. We will boast only about what has happened within the boundaries of the work God has given us, which includes our working with you. 14We are not reaching beyond these boundaries when we claim authority over you, as if we had never visited you. For we were the first to travel all the way to Corinth with the Good News of Christ. 15Nor do we boast and claim credit for the work someone else has done. Instead, we hope that your faith will grow so that the boundaries of our work among you will be extended. You are unique and God has called you for a purpose. Receive the mission that God has called you to fulfill, stay committed to that mission, and start releasing your faith to accomplish your God given destination. The point I want you to remember is God has given you people to help you along the way. I have been blessed to have, first, a relationship with Jesus, a wonderful Godly wife Kathy, 3 beautiful children, Shannon, Morgan and Christian, many friends, and prayer & financial partners to help me fulfill what God has called Large Ministries to be and do. Here is a great quote from humorist Arnold H. Glasgow, “A TRUE FRIEND NEVER GETS IN YOUR WAY UNLESS YOU HAPPEN TO BE GOING DOWN”. It is time to get to work in these last days to preach the Kingdom of God. Hard work spotlights the charter of people. Some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some do not turn up at all. Let’s show up and have strong relationships, release our faith, and accomplish the things God wants us to do. 80% of success is showing up! Galatians 6:4-5 (NLT) 4Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. 5For we are each responsible for our own conduct.
