I Corinthians 1:3.

I want to share some of my thoughts on love in this issue of of our newsletter.

If we are going to reach the world for Jesus with the Gospel or Good News, we must have love. I Corinthians 13:13 says, “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity or love.”

Many people that I see today are looking for something. and we as Christians have what they need - which is love. Maybe I should have said ... some Christians have that kind of love. We need to examine ourselves to make sure we are showing the “God kind of love” to others around us. That does not mean we have to agree with the sins others are committing. They are sinners and sinners sin. The only difference between them and us as Christians is that we have accepted the love Jesus gave to all of us. Jesus has forgiven us with His love and saved us from our sins.

Many people have hatred, sadness, revenge, bitterness and just plain wrong attitudes. Sometimes we try to judge others for the things they do, but Matthew 7:1 says, We are not the judge, God is. Jesus is our advocator when we mess up. He goes to God on our behalf. When Jesus saves us, He starts taking out the bad things and replacing them with good things.

Many preachers only preach about things they do not approve of. Many times they stand in pulpits and are only judgmental, critical, negative and downgrading.

My goal is to show everyone the same love that God has shown me. Let’s all take a look in the mirror and let Jesus change the things in our lives that need changed. Let Him have all of our lives. Then we can go and share the greatest of the three - love.

St. John says, “For God sent His son into the world, not to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved.” God has and always will use us to bring His will and plan of salvation to others.

Reach out and love someone today! Show a helping hand and a loving attitude to those in need.
